Tomorrow marks the start of Pro.Languages 2019, a brand new event in the conference circuit, and one aimed at Language Professionals who want to take their business to the next level.
It promises to be an event unlike any other: ever since I first conceived of Pro.Languages I knew what I didn’t want it to be almost as much as I knew what I did want it to be!
There are plenty of bland, interchangeable conferences out there – who needs another one of those? No, I wanted something intimate, engaging and packed-full of relevant information, personalised to the delegates.
I wanted to be able to guarantee that each and every person who attended would leave feeling inspired having received feedback that was specific to them.
When talking about language professionals it’s easy to make the mistake of limiting one’s message to tutors, teachers and coaches. But there is so much more to this sector!
And if ever in doubt, you only need to see a sample of the backgrounds of those coming to this years’ Pro.Languages to realise the breadth of the careers out there: in addition to experienced language coaches and teachers, we will be welcoming translators, examiners, legal professionals and VAs specialising in multi-lingual services – and that’s just a taster of the diversity we will be seeing. Everyone there is on their own journey, and will be facing their own challenges.
We all know that just wanting your business to succeed isn’t enough. Being passionate about what you do isn’t enough. To truly achieve your goals, you have to lean in. You have to show up. You have to keep pushing forward.
And that’s what Pro.Languages 2019 is all about: one thing that everyone attending has in common is they all have the energy, commitment and drive to make a success of their businesses.
And I, for one, can’t wait to get started!
